Description

Job Summary:  Lead Electrician responsible for installing and maintaining electrical systems in exhibit displays and mobile exhibit vehicles. Properly functioning electrical systems is critical to the success and safety all client projects.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ability to pre-wire exhibits from reading and duplicating drawings
  • Repair, replace and install electrical equipment and systems in displays
  • Assembly and installation of low voltage lighting and components
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues when needed
  • Use appropriate tools and testing equipment in order to properly complete a project
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace
  • Must have all personal tools at all times and be able to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment.
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Self-motivated and works without much supervision
  • Able to work 50+ hours per week when needed
  • Knowledge and experience with hydraulic, HVAC and pneumatic controls is a plus
  • Experience in automobile wiring is a plus

Qualifications:
            Required

  • High School Graduate or equivalent with good reading, writing, math and analytical skills are required.
  • 1-3 years of work experience as an Electrician.
  • Certified 
  • Valid NC Driver’s License

Preferred

  • Electrician courses completed at a technical school are preferred.
  • Licensed 

Required knowledge and skills

  • Able to do general labor out of job description when needed
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and work with minimum supervision
  • Keep a clean work environment
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to understand the level of effort required to achieve results
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings 
  • Knowledge of codes and regulations related to electrical work 
  • Flexibility as priorities and timelines can shift considerably and frequently

Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:

  • Stand for 8 hours or more
  • Turn the head, neck, and shoulders to both the right and left
  • Use the arms and legs to lift equipment and/or machinery
  • Perform tasks that require adequate manual dexterity in the use of keyboards and keypads, handle or touch objects or controls
  • Talk and listen
  • Walk
  • Stand
  • Reach above shoulders
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Climb a ladder and/or steps to work at a height of approximately 13 feet above the ground
  • Work in close/confined spaces
  • Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Specific hearing requirements of this job include ability to listen to telephone conversations as well as face-to-face conversations.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud
  • Work beyond a 40-hour workweek is required
