Job Summary: Responsible for constructing a project from technical drawings, blueprints, and sketches into a finished project. Ability to use all wood related tools including power equipment.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Able to read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements on a project
  • Able to take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed for a project
  • Cut, shape and smooth wood and other materials according to the measurements given
  • Build cabinets, shelves, doors, frames etc...
  • Assemble and install furniture, cabinets and shelves
  • Ability to cut and fit pieces to a tight tolerance
  • Ability to work with numerous materials
  • Attention to details
  • Ability to do finish work
  • Ability to take on and manage a project small or large from start to finish
  • Self-motivated and works without much supervision
  • Ability to solve problems as they arrive on a project
  • Ability to use a variety of shop tools including power tools and saws
  • Follow all safety guidelines at all times
  • Good physical condition with the ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Able to work 40 plus hours weekly and overtime when needed


Required Qualifications:

  • Have a carpentry background
  • Able to do general labor out of the basic job description when needed
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Self motivated and work with minimum supervision
  • Keep a clean work environment
  • Attention to details
  • Stand for 8 or more hours daily
  • Turn head, neck and shoulders to both the right and left
  • Use arms and legs to lift equipment and materials
  • Reach above shoulders
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch and or crawl
  • Climb a ladder and work at heights up to 13 feet above the ground
  • Work in close/confined spaces
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception
  • Noise level in work environment is usually moderately loud
  • Ability to work a 40 hours weekly and overtime when needed

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • 2+ years Carpentry Experience
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
